Introductory Leadership Workshops
The LEAP Introductory Leadership Workshop is a skill-based workshop for pre-tenure faculty. The event is small, 12-14 participants and diverse with regard to disciplines. The 2 1/2 day format includes presentations by senior faculty and administrators on campus, giving the participants a sense of the support on this campus by colleagues at all levels. The small group atmosphere allows a perfect opportunity to connect with other new faculty across campus, often resulting in the added benefit of long lasting friendships. Breakfast and lunch are provided with the day beginning about 9:00AM and ending by 3:30PM. An application requires the participant to be available for the entire 2 1/2 days of the event. A stipend from Academic Affairs & Faculty Affairs is paid to successful applicants. The workshop is held in January and May, with an additional session possible in June based on interest. Please see the link to the sample agenda, and the application link to apply. The next Introductory Leadership Workshop will take place May 12-14, 2014.
